Aron Zaltz
Aron Zaltz is known for his thoughtful advocacy in complex personal injury and sexual abuse litigation, as well as his contributions to the development of Ontario law. Working with Jeffrey Preszler, he helped secure a precedent-setting decision lifting the cap on general damages in sexual abuse claims–described by Law Times as “a first for the province.” His reported decisions have drawn coverage from outlets including CBC, CTV News, Law Times, Canadian Underwriter, and Benefits Canada, and he has written for Best Lawyers and presented at continuing legal education programs.
Aron’s practice includes representing plaintiffs at trial, on appeal, and in administrative proceedings. In addition to advancing compensation for survivors of sexual abuse, he has handled complex ancillary issues in personal injury litigation, such as representing insured claims to the Superior Court’s jurisdiction in bankruptcy and insolvency (including CCAA matters), enforcing uninsured judgments, and designing case-specific strategies for court approvals of settlements for persons under disability, including those involving real estate purchases. He has also acted pro bono to safeguard clients’ rights before the Social Security Tribunal and Landlord and Tenant Board in Ontario.
Called to the Ontario bar in 2016, Aron has practiced with Preszler Injury Lawyers from the outset of his career, having completed both his summer and articling terms with the firm. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 2011, followed by a Master’s and a law degree from the University of Toronto, graduating from the Faculty of Law in 2015.
Outside of his legal work, Aron’s greatest joy is time spent with his wife and children.
