Joel McLeish

Joel McLeish is a litigation-focused personal injury lawyer whose practice is built on empathy, preparation, and confident courtroom advocacy. Clients know him as both approachable and relentless: he takes time to understand their stories, then applies a strategic, detail-oriented approach to pursuing fair results in motor vehicle accident, dog bite, and slip and fall claims.

Originally from London, Ontario, Joel’s path to practice took him west. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at MacEwan University, began his legal studies at the University of Manitoba, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2020. He articled at a small firm in Edmonton, gaining experience in real estate, wills, and family law, before his call to the bar in July 2021. Joel then moved to Calgary, where he appeared regularly in court on family and criminal law matters and developed a strong interest in trial work. In July 2022, he transitioned to personal injury at one of Canada’s largest personal injury firms, working exclusively for plaintiffs before joining Preszler in 2024.

Outside of his legal practice, Joel is active in the local theatre community, performing in stage productions. He also enjoys sports, games, time with his partner and family, and looking after his plants and beloved cat.
