Joseph Fearon
Joseph Fearon is a Nova Scotia-born trial lawyer who plays a key leadership role in Preszler Injury Lawyers’ complex litigation and institutional abuse practices. A significant portion of his work is devoted to representing survivors of sexual abuse, particularly those abused in childhood, and he also helps manage the firm’s national sexual abuse practice as well as operations in British Columbia and Alberta. Joseph is known for combining strategic rigour with clear, practical guidance so clients can make informed decisions while focusing on their recovery.
Joseph holds a B.A. (Honours) in philosophy from Queen’s University and a law degree from the University of Victoria. Before joining Preszler, he practiced with two prominent litigation firms in Vancouver and worked with the Office of the Ombudsperson, the Residential Tenancy Branch, the Ministry of Attorney General, and a community legal clinic serving low-income clients. That background reflects a longstanding commitment to access to justice and informs his work on complex, high-value plaintiff claims.
He has extensive courtroom experience, having conducted and won numerous judge-alone and jury trials, and regularly appears at all levels of court. He also frequently handles cases involving concussions, moderate to severe brain injuries, complex liability disputes, and some of the firm’s largest settlements in both Ontario and British Columbia. Clients value his ability to explain risk, recommend a clear course of action at every stage, and carry difficult files with focus and care.
Joseph is also active outside the courtroom: he has written a legal column for major publications, contributed commentary to CTV and CBC, participated in continuing legal education programs, and provides pro bono support to young people from foster care.
