Mark Virgin is a senior trial lawyer and mediator known for his work on some of the most serious and complex injury and insurance cases. Recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers in Canada for his experience in insurance, he has represented clients in claims involving fatalities, brain injuries, complex psychiatric disorders, catastrophic orthopedic injuries, and other high-stakes losses. His plaintiff practice includes motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, sexual assault and medical malpractice claims, disability disputes, and challenging liability contests.
Over the course of his career, Mark has conducted numerous judge-alone and jury trials and appeared at the appellate level, earning a reputation for tenacious, well-prepared advocacy and for securing significant awards when cases proceed to court. Beyond the courtroom, he is frequently sought as a mediator and arbitrator, helping resolve civil disputes involving personal injury and other complex issues. He has written and presented extensively across Canada and in the U.K., with a particular interest in demystifying expert evidence for both professionals and the courts.
Mark’s long-standing commitment to service within the profession and the broader community has been recognized by the Canadian Bar Association’s Community Service Award. Away from his practice, he is an avid skier, hiker, and swimmer.
