Matthew Lefave is originally from the Town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Matthew attended St. Mary’s University for his undergraduate degree where he received numerous academic and athletic scholarships including the Father JJ Hennessey Memorial Scholarship for outstanding achievement in academic and athletic endeavours and being named Academic All Canadian during last two years of study as a member of the Track and Field Team, and later attended Dalhousie University (now Schulich School Law). Matthew has spent the first 15 years of his career working at a large downtown Toronto law firm working exclusively for insurance companies. Matthew has appeared at all levels of Court in Ontario and has extensive experience relating to complex motor vehicle accidents, fatalities, long term disability, slip and falls, professional liability and property disputes. Matthew is very pleased to be using the knowledge and experience he gained while defending insurance companies to now represent injured people. Matthew was recently recognized by his peers and named to Best Lawyers in Canada in 2021 in Personal Injury. When not in the office Matthew keeps busy spending time with his three young children and volunteering his time coaching sports.
