Nathaniel J. Hartney
Nathaniel J. Hartney is an experienced trial lawyer whose career has been shaped by time on both sides of the courtroom. Before joining Preszler Injury Lawyers to focus exclusively on a plaintiff-only practice, he handled major criminal cases and spent several years with a respected ICBC insurance defence firm, gaining valuable insight into how insurers assess and defend claims.
Nathaniel has conducted over 125 trials as lead counsel, including both jury and non-jury matters. This is an uncommon level of courtroom experience that informs his strategic, no-nonsense approach to litigation. He chose to direct that experience toward representing individuals rather than institutions, advocating for people who have been injured and need a strong, informed voice in their corner.
His dedication to access to justice has been formally recognized: in 2014, he received the Dugald Christie Award from Access Pro Bono BC for his commitment to providing pro bono legal services to those in need.
Outside of his practice, Nathaniel enjoys riding his motorcycle, playing hockey, and spending time with his wife and children.
