Raj Bhogal

Raj Bhogal is a multi-jurisdictional personal injury lawyer whose practice is built around one central goal: making a complex and often intimidating system work for injured people and their families. Licenced in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, he represents clients in serious and high-stakes cases, including wrongful death, brain and spinal cord injuries, motor vehicle collisions, premises and product liability, sexual assault, long-term disability denials, and major domestic and international aviation accidents. Raj is known for taking ownership of the litigation process so his clients can focus on their health and recovery.

Raj’s insight into how insurers operate runs deep. Before becoming a lawyer, he spent years as a private investigator for several of North America’s largest insurance companies, handling injury and disability files. That experience now informs his plaintiff-focused practice: he understands how claims are scrutinized, where weaknesses are alleged, and which strategies are used to limit payouts, and he prepares his cases accordingly.

No two files are treated the same. Raj tailors his approach to the person and the problem in front of him, resolving many matters efficiently through informal negotiation or dispute resolution, while pursuing a more aggressive strategy when needed. He has conducted and won numerous trials, including acting as counsel in Ponych v. Klose, where his client was awarded nearly $2 million in damages after a month-long trial. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Ontario, the Divisional Court, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Outside of work, Raj enjoys skiing, exploring new restaurants, and travelling with his wife.
