Dairn is originally from Ontario where he completed his degree in psychology at McMaster University. He went on to complete his law degree at the University of British
Columbia in 1992.
He is a published author of both short stories and a paper in the Journal of Experimental Psychology. He is currently a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Trial Lawyers of British Columbia.
Dairn, since his start in the practice of law in 1994, has always focused on civil litigation of initially family law, criminal law and personal injury claims. In 2000 his practice became solely focused on personal injury matters.
While Dairn believes that negotiated settlements are to be preferred where the settlement is fair, he also is willing to attend trial if the insurance companies are not willing to be fair. In fact, he has been a part of over 100 trials and has appeared before all levels of court including two successful trips to the Supreme Court of Canada where he fought for the rights of injured individual plaintiffs.
